The 8 questions that will make your caterer tremble
And the exact answers that should make you walk away, before you sign and find out too late.

I am a private chef, and it took me a long time to understand what really separates two quotes that look alike.
What truly matters to you is never written in a quote. Whether this person will understand what you really want. Whether they will actually want to be there. Whether you will be yourselves, or just one more name in their season.
There is only one way to know, ask.
What is going to happen in your next meetings
There is one question to send by email, before you have even met anyone. It will let you make a first selection.
You will be offered set menus to choose from, so you can pick what you like. But is that really what you want?
Nobody in this profession displays their prices, myself included. But there is something more important than knowing how much you will pay.
You meet someone, you like them, and you sign. There is still one thing to check before that.
Keep the last one for the end of the meeting. It is the most revealing of the eight, and I explain why.
Who is writing to you
I am Marie, a private chef since January 2025. I cook where you are, for weddings and for residencies.
I wrote this document for people who already know what they love to eat and drink, and who do not want anyone deciding for them. You have already eaten at beautiful tables. You are not waiting for someone to explain what is good, you are waiting to be listened to.
These eight questions will lead you to the person who will not see your event as one more booking. The one who will want to bring to life exactly what you imagine, and who will let your wishes take all the space.
They are not there to trap anyone. The right person is waiting for them, and hoping for them, because they will finally be able to show you what sets them apart from the one next door.
What they say once the table has been cleared
“Marie, Yann and I are so happy we trusted you. Everything was delicious and lived up to our expectations. Some guests are true connoisseurs, even in your profession, and the feedback was unanimous. Our children loved it. Beyond the food, we truly loved the person.”
